Late last month, a Minnesota 2020 report showed how cuts to Local Government Aid (LGA) are hurting Minnesota communities. Today, our friends over at ThankLGA have released a video showing how LGA cuts hurt community amenities like libraries and our public safety.

Striking, isn’t it? If LGA is cut, rural Minnesota mayors say they have no choice to cut the services described in the graph below.

The case is clear. LGA helps Minnesota communities thrive and keeps property taxes under control.  State policymakers need to make it a priority in their budget decisions this spring.
